Valderejo Natural Park
Hidden by the mountain arc formed by the peaks of Lerón (1,240m), Karria (1,130m), and Vallegrull (1,226m), and beneath their imposing cliffs, this park boasts a diverse forest of beech and holm oak in its higher elevations, and pine forests, scrubland, meadows, and cultivated fields in the lower areas. Nearly 200 species of vertebrates inhabit the area, with birds being the most prominent, including the black stork, bearded vulture, eagle, griffon vulture, falcon, and marsh harrier.
The Purón River, approximately 15 km long, flows through the valley, and its gorge—nestled between the cliffs of Vallegrull and Santa Ana—offers a spectacular landscape with beautiful waterfalls and pools.
There is a visitor center for the park. Inside, you’ll find the Information Center, a projection room, and an exhibit about the park.
Valderejo is an ideal place for recreation and connecting with nature. Its easy access and the existence of various trails make it possible to hike along the longer routes and climb to the park’s most prominent peaks.
