The Alto del Haya is the northernmost peak, rising above the spectacular Jerea ravine. There are several routes to reach the summit, both from the heart of the Valderejo Natural Park (Lalastra-Lahoz) and from the Tobalina valley. The route described below begins in the village of Lahoz.

We start our walk just before the first house in the village. To its right, a track enters the forest and runs alongside the Purón River, which in this section is little more than a stream. We reach some meadows (25 minutes) where the path turns right, ending at a nearby fence. We ignore this turn and continue across the meadow for a few meters until we find a track on the left that climbs the ridge towards Coronas. After the steep climb and reaching the plateau (0h.55′), we take the track and follow it to the left, walking along the edge of the cliff. A little further on, the path forks (1h.10′), and we take the track that leads into the plain (to the right) and heads towards Alto del Haya.

Once at the base of Alto del Haya (1h.30′), we look for the easiest route through the limestone pavement to reach the summit. On the descent, we’ll make a slight variation. When the path reaches the edge of the precipice, we head to the right towards the hermitage of San Lorenzo. Behind it, a path descends to the valley pastures.
