We begin the route from the Ribera parking area, which we reach from San Zadornil. After crossing the road leading into the park, we descend along the cobbled path for a couple of kilometers towards Ribera. Following the trail, we reach the abandoned village of Ribera (30 minutes). When we reach the bridge, signs indicate the different paths we can take. We pass through the ruins and the recreation area. To the left flows the Purón River. We descend through the meadow until we reach a gate (40 minutes). We continue along the main path and enter the forest. After climbing a steep section, we reach the riverbank and enter the gorge. After a final narrow passage, the gorge opens up, and we emerge onto a sunny slope, following the path that descends towards Herrán. We pass the junction and continue descending (1 hour 5 minutes). From this point, the path, which still retains some sections of the Roman road, widens and becomes easier to follow. In the final stretch, the river slows and feeds the millrace of a now-abandoned mill (1 hour 25 minutes).
